Today we are going off to discover an impressive construction atop an inaccessibly steep cliff that was once one of the frontline defensive points of the island of Formentera. The Garroveret Tower was built in the 18th century, a watchtower for the sighting of enemy ships and to communicate their presence to the population through smoke or fire signals.

Its very presence is intimidating, a serene prominence that stands above everything around it. Only some shrunken aromatic bushes and the blue sea in the background accompany this defensive construction in its solitude, enhancing its deterrent effect.

We return to Castaví with a powerful sensation of the unassailable.
